"Trompe l'oeil (pronounced tromp loy) is a French term which literally means “fool the eye.” It’s an art style which creates the optical illusion of dimension with nearly photographic realism.
This three-thousand-year-old art form creates the illusion of three-dimensional objects on a two-dimensional surface. The lighting effects and the variety of textures required for these life-sized realistic paintings and drawings make them one of the most meticulously detailed fine art genres. " Not so sure I got all the detail accurate so maybe this is just a "Mug of Beer".
One more little, white, fuzzy dog!! She is tiny, spunky and is always switching between running like a crazy dog and acting like a parrot, laying on your shoulder.
Just before the 4th of July, we went to the 100 year old Voss's Resort. With a house full of family, I knew I couldn't spend much time. In one hour and with limited pallette, I painted the boathouse! Quick and cute!
The Northwoods Outdoor Artists visited Dillman's Resort in Lac Du Flambeau this week. I worked on this boathouse for a couple hours and sold it to a family visiting there! What Fun!
Yesterday was the first official outing of the Northwoods Outdoor Artists. We went to downtown Manitowish to the Rest Lake Dam and Koller park. This is the view down river from the Dam.
Unusual for me....a pastel. I did this in a Manito Art League workshop. She was demonstrating how to use 'Suede Mat Board' with pastel. It was fun and I actually like the outcome.
